It has been awhile since the last Mediprocity release for mobile devices.  We have been hard at work to bring you an entirely new Mediprocity experience. The 4.0 version is light weight, faster and consumes very little bandwidth or storage on your device!  The new 4.0 version has a lot of new and exciting features, and best of all it is built to allow us to innovate rapidly!

Provide Immediate Connection to Crucial Support Services  

St Louis (July 25, 2016) - The Alzheimer’s Association St. Louis Chapter today announced a partnership with local tech company Mediprocity to launch a new secure messaging system for doctors and healthcare providers to immediately connect newly-diagnosed Alzheimer’s patients with the Association’s critical support services. 

Direct Connect Rapid Referral is a HIPAA compliant communications application which enables secure messages to be sent either via a computer or mobile device – resulting in a more efficient referral process and more timely engagement with Association programming such as disease education, on-on-one care consultations and caregiver support.
 
“What’s key about Rapid Referral is the immediate connection,” said Stephanie Rohlfs-Young, Vice President of Programs for the Alzheimer's Association St. Louis.  “Too often individuals and families receive an Alzheimer's diagnosis and they don’t know where to turn for support. Even when a healthcare professional recommends they contact the Association, it takes on average, more than two years for families to voluntarily connect with us.” 
 
According to Rohlfs-Young, through Rapid Referral, outreach and subsequent engagement with Association services is much quicker. A primary reason for this is that families give their consent for Association staff to follow-up with them to initiate the process.        
 
Rapid Referral was test piloted earlier this year with nine area healthcare provider groups, resulting in more than 45 connections to the Alzheimer’s Association during the three month trial period.  Nearly 90 percent of these families received personalized care consultations, with 30 percent requesting ongoing monthly follow-up from a social worker.
 
"We received a great response from providers who used Rapid Referral during the pilot phase," said Mediprocity CEO Mason Rothert.  "Our hope is that more doctors and providers will see the inherent value in the system -- expedited engagement with the critical support and care provided by Alzheimer's Association services."

bcomMissouri companies partner to save healthcare providers potentially thousands of dollars in fines, protect patient privacy St. Louis, MO (May 1, 2015) – Two Missouri companies have partnered to prevent potentially thousands of dollars in regulatory fines to healthcare providers and protect patient privacy by equipping a St. Louis-based phone answering service with encrypted text messaging.

St. Louis based Mediprocity, a provider of secure messaging software for desktop and mobile devices, and phone exchange/virtual office services company Business Centers of Missouri have integrated their software capabilities so that physicians, hospice, home health and other healthcare providers can receive protected patient health information via text messages from Business Centers Of Missouri’s answering service operation.

“The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is one of a number of stringent patient privacy protection laws that healthcare professionals must follow,” said Mediprocity CEO Mason Rothert. “Regulators are giving huge fines to providers that do not comply.  Text messaging is the fastest form of communication in today’s health community and it has to be encrypted to protect the public and the providers.”

With this partnership Business Centers of Missouri’s regional and national healthcare customers can sign on with Mediprocity and download the app to their desktop and/or mobile devices. Almost immediately customers can receive encrypted text messages from the answering service, eliminating hours of phone tag and improving response time.  The answering service receives documented confirmation via text when the message is read and can answer any ensuing questions via text.

The two companies envisioned the partnership when they realized they shared common clients.  One of them, Nurses and Company (N&C), a locally owned hospice, private services and home health provider has served as the pilot. Both companies were providing different aspects of HIPAA-compliant communication for N&C and they realized many other clients had areas of risk and needed the unique tools that each company offers. The cloud-based Mediprocity app is free to physicians and offers affordable plans for every size of health organization.  Data is encrypted in transit and stored on secure servers – not on mobile or desktop devices.
